This is who I am but not limited to...
My nickname is ChaVo
Born and raised in Michigan. No I will not lift up my hand and point to the spot where I live. I will indulge in it's seasons, except winter. There is a "No Winter Allowed" sign hanging inside my tree house. While winter is so amazingly serene to look upon, standing outside it will take your breathe away for more than just it's beauty. It's wicked cold and you can't breathe out there. I don't ski so it's utterly useless to me, unless it's Christmas and then it's allowed but just for that short window of time. Not to mention I feel like a reptile because my skin is parched of all moisture. But Michigan is so much more than the seasons and while I just complained about a chunk of our weather you have to take the good with the bad. The good pictured above - Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor MI. It's on the west side of the mitten or over by your ring and pinky finger, depends on what map you're looking at :).
I married this one guy and he's now my husband - really good decision on my part. He is the calm to my storm. I can storm a bit from time to time so it's good to have this balance in my life. He is funny and adorable. He's the kind of guy who doesn't buy into any kind of fad or trend, another balancing act as I want to run out and buy everything that's new and exciting and shiny. He is a man and likes to fix things with his hands and eat bacon and cheese and red meat and repeat. He's the kind of guy who after eating organic peanut butter says "you know why I don't like this peanut butter, it taste too much like peanuts." He saves money for our future and negotiates with Comcast when they try to raise our bill. He tells me I'm super pretty and says "you don't need to lose weight because I won't be able to squish you if you get to skinny." He loves Jesus and feeds the homeless. He is loyal and loving. He takes me warm places like St. Thomas and Mexico in the winter because if you recall I hate winter. We will be married 3 years this December 9th and I can tell we will be married a long long time to come!
I have made a career with the Nielsen Company. I manage a sales team. If you've ever been in a long line and someone starts smooth talking their way to the front - they are in sales. Persuasion and all it's smooth talking comes naturally for us. Almost 9 years and going strong.
I knit. I drink lots of coffee and tea. I have 2 dogs Murphy and Stella - melt your heart cute. I enjoy yoga but truth be told fitness and I have a love hate relationship and because food and I have the same relationship - I hate that it loves to add to my "squishyness" it's necessary. Everything in balance.
I love Jesus. I was raised in the church and fell away for such a long lonely time. Then about 3 years ago I had a pastor speak a word into my life and I knew this whole thing was way to real and as a result I was and still am consumed by God's intense love. I've been smiling ever since. Once God becomes real to you and more than a word on a page you don't have a chance to be anything but infatuated with him. I'm all about that grace!

To me life is just like Michigan weather, you take the good with the bad and you hope and pray the winter doesn't last to long. Seasons in life come and go just as quick as they arrived. And after all, the cold dark days make the warm sunny days all the more sweet.
